Falling Creek (James River tributary)

Falling Creek is a 23-mile-long tributary of the James River near Richmond, Virginia. It begins in the Salisbury area of northwestern Chesterfield County, flows through Southside Richmond, and enters the James River about a mile south of the city limits. The creek widens from about 10 feet at its source to several hundred feet in the Falling Creek Reservoir. A dam on Hopkins Road in the Meadowbrook area creates the reservoir, which used to be the drinking water supply for northern Chesterfield County.
