Kazimierz Wojniakowski
Kazimierz Wojniakowski (1771/72–1812) was a Polish painter and illustrator, and a Freemason. He is best known for his portraits in a sentimental style.
Life and work
- Born in Kraków, Wojniakowski studied under the painter Marcello Bacciarelli.
- His portrait style was influenced by Austrian artist Josef Grassi, as seen in his 1796 portrait of Izabela Czartoryska.
- He spent his career in Poland and died in Warsaw.
- In addition to portraits, he created religious works and scenes of contemporary events, such as the Constitution of May 3, 1791 (a work from 1806). He also made drawings from travels, including the Lublin Province.
