Kannugudi East is a village in Orathanadu taluk, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. In the 2001 census, it had a population of 1,785 people (873 men and 912 women), with a sex ratio of about 1.045 women for every man. The literacy rate was 70.8%. Many residents work in farming. A notable temple on Kannugudi North Street is the Kali Amman Temple. Kannugudi East is known as one of the beautiful villages in Thanjavur district. The official language is Tamil, and the area follows Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30).
