Justice League: Alien Invasion 3D
Justice League: Alien Invasion 3D is an interactive dark ride at Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast, Australia. It opened on September 22, 2012, costing about A$9 million and replaced Batman Adventure – The Ride. Built mainly by Sally Corporation with partners, it uses 3D projections and laser blasters. Riders sit in 20 four-person vehicles on a 197-meter track, shooting at more than 250 Starro spores to help the Justice League defeat an alien threat. Each rider wears RealD 3D glasses, and scores appear on the vehicle panels and a park leaderboard. The ride lasts about 5 minutes 50 seconds and has a 90 cm height requirement.
The queue and ride scenes feature DC Comics characters—Superman, Supergirl, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Starro—inside a Hall of Justice, as part of a larger DC Comics hub at the park. Cyborg guides guests at the start, explaining the tactical assault vehicles and blasters. At the end, Superman makes riders honorary members of the Justice League.
Reception was positive for the 3D effects and immersive theming, though some critics found the ride system itself disappointing. The concept drew interest from Sally Corporation to bring it to other parks. The idea influenced later DC rides, notably Justice League: Battle for Metropolis at Six Flags parks in 2015, which used a motion-based system and added villains like Lex Luthor and The Joker.
