ISCM World Music Days, 2015
ISCM World Music Days 2015 took place in Slovenia from 26 September to 2 October. Slovenia had hosted the event before, in 2003. The festival was directed by Slovene composer Pavel Mihelčič, who also runs the Unicum Contemporary Music Festival. Organized with the Society of Slovene Composers, it showcased recently composed music from six continents. In the main program, about 40 Slovenian works—focusing on young local composers—were presented alongside around 50 foreign pieces. Performances featured the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra, the Slovene Chamber Choir, and the Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra, with most concerts held in the Philharmonic Hall. The 2015 event faced criticism for a small audience and a tight budget to host international ISCM delegates.
