Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl is a story about friends in Kashima ward, Tokyo. Hazumu Osaragi is a kind high school student who is pressured to confess his love to Yasuna Kamiizumi, but Yasuna rejects him. After climbing Mt. Kashima, Hazumu is hit by an alien ship, revived, and turned into a girl. The series follows how Hazumu’s new female body affects his relationships with Yasuna and Tomari Kurusu, his childhood friend. A love triangle forms between Hazumu, Yasuna, and Tomari, as they figure out their feelings.

Characters

- Hazumu Osaragi: Now a girl. He loves plants and gardening, is friendly and indecisive, and has to learn how to live as a girl. He still uses the word “boku” to refer to himself.

- Yasuna Kamiizumi: Hazumu’s classmate who cannot see males. She gradually falls in love with Hazumu after the change and is a talented flute player. Her level of devotion to Hazumu differs between versions.

- Tomari Kurusu: Hazumu’s childhood friend and a tomboy who is athletic. She cares for Hazumu a lot, helps him adjust, and ends up pursuing Hazumu romantically.

- Ayuki Mari: Hazumu’s classmate who enjoys observing transformations. She watches the love triangle and is interested in science.

- Asuta Soro: Hazumu’s classmate and best friend. He’s more masculine and, after Hazumu’s change, struggles with romantic thoughts about Hazumu while trying to stay a friend.

- Namiko Tsuki: The English teacher who is infatuated with Hitoshi Sora. She is quirky and clumsy.

- Hitoshi Sora: An alien who transformed Hazumu. He studies love to help his species survive and works as Hazumu’s biology teacher.

- Jan Pu: An artificial intelligence from Hitoshi’s ship. She creates a Hazumu-like android and loves Hazumu in her own way.

- Hazumu’s parents, Toru and Kahoru Osaragi: They are thrilled to have a daughter after the change and love dressing Hazumu in feminine clothes, though this can be tiring for Hazumu at times.
