Julia Dujmovits
Julia Dujmovits (born 12 June 1987) is an Austrian snowboarder who competes in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom. She was born in Güssing, Austria, and races for Union SK Güssing. She is 168 cm tall and weighs 56 kg. Her coaches are Bernd Krug, Manuel Kruselburger and Brigitte Köck.
In her career, Dujmovits won the gold medal in parallel slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, becoming the first Austrian to win Olympic snowboarding gold. She has also earned silver medals at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships: parallel giant slalom in 2013 (Stoneham) and parallel slalom in 2015 (Kreischberg), and she won gold in parallel giant slalom at the 2013 Winter Universiade. She has multiple World Cup podiums across parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom.
She survived the Kaprun Funicular Disaster in 2000; her brother suggested taking the gondola instead of the crowded cable railway, a choice that saved their lives.
