Gustav Vasa Enters Stockholm 1523
Gustav Vasa Enters Stockholm 1523 is a painting by Swedish artist Carl Larsson, made for the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. Completed in 1908, it shows Gustav Vasa just before he enters Stockholm to become king in 1523. Planning began in 1897, but Larsson could start only in November 1906. The large canvas (700 cm × 1400 cm) was mostly finished by November 1907 and hung in the Nationalmuseum on January 28, 1908.
