Jon Micah Sumrall
Jon Micah Sumrall, born October 13, 1980, in Ashland, Oregon, is an American musician and the lead singer of the Christian rock band Kutless. He also sometimes plays acoustic guitar and piano. Kutless started in 1999 (originally as a worship band called Call Box while Sumrall was in college), and Sumrall has been the lead vocalist since the band began. He is the only original Kutless member left and, with rhythm guitarist James Mead, the only member to appear on every album.
In 2015, Sumrall released a solo album called Faith & Family with BEC Recordings.
Sumrall grew up in a Christian home; his father was a pastor at Applegate Christian Fellowship, and his family stayed closely involved with the church. By age 12, he was leading worship and helping with younger Sunday school groups.
He currently lives in Idaho with his wife and two kids. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, skiing, and being in nature. He has also had several surgeries for injuries such as broken bones and dislocations.
