Jim Wheeler (born Floyd James Wheeler on November 8, 1953) is an American businessman and Republican politician from Nevada. He served in the Nevada Assembly, representing the 39th district, from 2012 to 2022, and was the Assembly’s minority leader from 2017 to 2019. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1977. Wheeler is the CEO of Powerdyne Automotive Products and has three children.

Wheeler first ran for the Assembly in 2010 but lost to Kelly Kite. He won the seat in 2012, defeating Kite. He supported AB 86, a bill to lower the gambling age from 21 to 18, but the bill died in the Senate.

During his time in office, Wheeler faced ethics complaints. In 2013, Kite alleged Wheeler did not live in the 39th district, and Wheeler was also accused of failing to disclose a lien. In October 2013, Democrats released a video in which Wheeler said he would vote to reinstate slavery if his constituents asked him to; he apologized later, stating his comment was an extreme example and not his position.

Wheeler served as Nevada Assembly minority leader from 2017 to 2019, succeeding Irene Bustamante Adams and later being succeeded by Robin L. Titus. He remained in the Assembly until 2022, when Ken Gray succeeded him.
