John, Count Palatine of Neumarkt (1383 – 14 March 1443) was a member of the House of Wittelsbach. Born in Neunburg vorm Wald, he became Count Palatine of Neumarkt in 1410 and ruled until his death in Kastl. He was the son of Rupert, King of the Romans, and Elisabeth of Nuremberg, and he married Catherine of Pomerania in 1407. John is best known for his decisive victory against the Hussites at the Battle of Hiltersried in 1433. His son Christopher of Bavaria later became king of the Kalmar Union.
