Brian Patrick Monahan (born 1960 in Fairfield, Connecticut) is the Attending Physician of the United States Congress and the United States Supreme Court. He is a rear admiral in the United States Navy, nominated by President Barack Obama in January 2009 for the physician role and rank. He previously led hematology and medical oncology at the National Naval Medical Center and has served as professor and chair of medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He returned to the Congress-Supreme Court role in 2008 as assistant attending physician.

Monahan is an internal medicine doctor with subspecialties in hematology and medical oncology and a researcher. Earlier in his career, he served as battalion surgeon for the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division (1987–1989). He has led Navy medical programs, contributed to cancer research with the National Cancer Institute, and helped identify safety issues with antihistamines. He helped create the first national in-training examination for medical oncology in 2008 and has been recognized as an outstanding teacher at USU and the National Cancer Institute. He earned a B.S. from Fairfield University and an M.D. from Georgetown University, and is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.
