George Ormsby (Gaelic footballer)
George Ormsby (Irish: Seoirse O'Armais) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He was born on 19 February 1913 in Ballina, County Mayo, and died on 1 September 1965 in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. He played as a left wing-back for the Mayo county team from 1932 to 1941 and for the Ballina Stephenites club. He worked as a Garda Síochána (police officer).
Ormsby made his senior Mayo debut in 1932 and soon became a regular starter. Over ten seasons, he won one All-Ireland medal (1936), five Connacht medals, and seven National Football League medals.
