Xylorycta ophiogramma
Xylorycta ophiogramma is a species of moth in the Xyloryctidae family. It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1890 and is found in Australia, specifically Queensland. The moth has a wingspan of 24–28 mm. The forewings are silvery white with dark ochre-brown markings, including a slender costal streak from the base to about three-quarters of the wing and three narrow irregular bands. The first band is near the base, the second runs from beyond the middle of the costa to before the middle of the inner margin (slightly sinuate inward on the lower half), and the third goes from just before the apex along the costa to the anal angle, with an inward bend in the middle and an irregular bar connecting to the middle of the second band. The hindwings are whitish ochreous with a yellowish tinge and become light grey toward the apex. The larvae feed on Hakea lorea and bore into the stem of the plant.
