John Jones (bishop)

John Charles Jones (3 May 1904 – 13 October 1956) was an Anglican bishop who served as the Bishop of Bangor from 1949 until his death. He studied at Carmarthen Grammar School, Cardiff University and Wadham College, Oxford. He worked as a curate in Llanelli and Aberystwyth, then spent 11 years as a missionary in Uganda with the Church Mission Society. He returned to Llanelli as its vicar in 1945, his last role before becoming a bishop.
