Archie Campbell (baseball)
Archibald Stewart "Iron Man" Campbell (October 20, 1903 – December 22, 1989) was a Major League Baseball pitcher in the late 1920s. He played for the New York Yankees in 1928, helping them win the World Series that year. He also played for the Washington Senators in 1929 and the Cincinnati Reds in 1930. In 40 games over parts of three seasons, he mostly pitched as a reliever, finishing with a win–loss record of 2–6, an earned run average of 5.86, and 29 strikeouts. Campbell batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Maplewood, New Jersey, but moved to Sparks, Nevada in 1947 and lived there the rest of his life, passing away in Reno at age 86.
