Joe Daniels (drummer)
Joe Daniels (born August 4, 1970) is an American rock drummer and clothing designer from Cleveland, Ohio. He is best known as the original drummer for Local H, playing with the band from 1987 until June 1999.
Daniels started jamming with Scott Lucas and Matt Garcia in 1987 in Zion, Illinois, and Local H formed in 1990. When Garcia left in 1993, the band continued as a duo after Lucas added a bass pickup to his guitar to create a fuller sound. Daniels left Local H in 1999, with his last show at The Metro in Chicago on June 24, 1999.
Afterward, he played with Stendec (1999–2001), helped form The Black Panels (2001–2004), and played with Bruiser (2005–2007), recording an album with them.
Offstage, Daniels married in 2006 and had a son in 2007. He and his wife opened a boutique in a Chicago suburb and started a children’s T‑shirt line in 2009. In April 2016, he toured with Local H to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album As Good as Dead. His son is actor Lyon Daniels.
