Jermaine Crawford (born October 28, 1992) is an American actor, singer, and songwriter from Prince George’s County, Maryland. He’s best known for playing Dukie Weems on HBO’s The Wire from 2006 to 2008. He is the second cousin of fellow The Wire actor Tristan Wilds. Crawford began performing at age three and has appeared on stage in Children of Eden (Ford Theatre), Carousel and The Miracle Worker (Olney Theatre), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare Theatre Company). He has served as a youth spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association. Crawford also acted in films, including A Mother’s Prayer (2009) and Twelve (2010).
