Jeremy Maggs

Jeremy Maggs is a South African journalist, radio host and television presenter. Born on 1 February 1961 in Johannesburg, he is best known for hosting the South African version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? from 1999 to 2005 and for anchoring on the eNCA news channel. He co-hosted Test The Nation and now hosts Maggs on Media on the eNews Channel. In radio, he co-presents SAfm’s PM Live and hosts the Sunday morning Media @ SAFM show. He also runs The Annual, a yearly guide to the media industry, and edits the revitalised Journal of Marketing, The Redzone.

Maggs studied journalism at Natal Technikon and began his career writing for the Eastern Province Herald and Durban’s Sunday Tribune. He spent ten years at Radio 702 as news editor and current affairs anchor, covering major events such as the assassination of Chris Hani and Princess Diana’s death. He later presented SABC2’s breakfast show with Nothemba Madumo, then Media@SAfm and AM Live. He has edited Mags magazine and led MASA’s Journal of Marketing, and has written for Financial Mail’s Ad Focus. He now publishes The Annual and is editor-in-chief of The Redzone.

In 2014 he joined POWER 98.7 as Best of POWER host, focusing on media innovation and trends. He lives in Johannesburg with his wife Anne and their two daughters; he enjoys reading, collecting books and cycling.
