Evgeny Shtaiger
Evgeny Shtaiger is a Russian ice hockey defenceman born on June 3, 1981, in Novokuznetsk. He is 6 ft 2 in tall, weighs 220 lb, and shoots left. He currently plays in Kazakhstan for Beibarys Atyrau. Shtaiger began his pro career in 2001 and has played for several Russian teams, including Metallurg Novokuznetsk, SKA Saint Petersburg, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, HC Lada Togliatti, Traktor Chelyabinsk, and HC Sibir Novosibirsk. He made his Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) debut with HC Lada Togliatti in the league’s first season, 2008–09. He was undrafted by the NHL.
