Jay Barrs
Jack Leonard "Jay" Barrs, Jr. (born July 17, 1962) is an American archer from Jacksonville, Florida. He won a gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the individual event. Barrs has been a dominant figure in archery, with fourteen US Field Champion titles, an NAA National Outdoor Championship, and a FITA World Field Championship. He also competed in the World Championships in 1999 (Riоm, team recurve) and the World Games in 2001 (Akita, individual recurve). At the Pan American Games, he earned medals in 1987 Indianapolis (individual and team) and 1991 Havana (30 m and 90 m). Barrs graduated from Arizona State University. He currently lives in Utah, where he coaches and mentors young archers through USA Archery's JOAD program.
