1991 Asian Women's Handball Championship: The third edition of the tournament was held in Hiroshima, Japan, from 22 to 31 August 1991. Five teams competed. The event also served as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 1992 Summer Olympics. South Korea won the title (their third), Japan finished as runners-up, with China third and North Korea fourth. A total of 10 matches were played and 503 goals were scored (about 50.3 per match).
