Jan Gmyrek
Jan Wojciech Gmyrek (born 2 March 1951 in Kraków, Poland) is a former Polish handball player. He played as a centre back. His club career included AZS Kraków (1964–1969), FKS Stal Mielec (1969–1976), Hutnik Kraków (1976–1980), and UHC Eggenburg in Austria (1980–1985). He played for the Poland national team from 1970 to 1979, earning 176 appearances and scoring 332 goals. Gmyrek competed at the 1972 Olympics, where Poland finished 10th, and won a bronze medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He is 1.78 meters tall.
