Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School
Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School was a private Catholic high school for boys and girls in New Rochelle, New York. It opened when Blessed Sacrament and Saint Gabriel's merged into one school and was run by the Sisters of Charity and the Congregation of Christian Brothers, along with other religious and lay staff. The school was located in Blessed Sacrament Parish and served students in grades 9 through 12.
The school closed after the 2012-2013 school year. In November 2012, the Archdiocese published a list of potential closures, but Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel was not on that initial list. The decision to close came later and surprised students and the school community.
Before closing, about 319 students attended (2008-09), with around 37 faculty members. The school colors were black and red, and the sports teams were called the Cardinals. The principal was Edward Sullivan and the pastor was Msgr. William Bradley. The school was accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It was located at 24 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
