Babcock Borsig Service
Babcock Borsig Service GmbH (BBS GmbH) is the parent company of the Babcock Borsig Service Group, an international service provider in the energy sector with about 2,800 employees. The company traces back to 1970, when Deutsche Babcock bought Borsig AG, later renaming the business Babcock Borsig AG. Since 2005 it has been a subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger AG. Before the takeover, some branches operated abroad, such as Deutsche Babcock Middle East and joint ventures like Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber. In May 2006, BBS GmbH and all its subsidiaries began operating under Bilfinger Berger Power Services (BBPS GmbH). The group’s main companies are Steinmüller, Babcock Noell, and Babcock Borsig Power Holding.
BBPS provides maintenance, service, efficiency improvements, lifetime extension, and supply of components. It serves conventional and nuclear power plants, environmental and water treatment plants, mining, waste incineration, chemical and petrochemical industries, steel mills, and research centers for particle physics, nuclear fusion, and nuclear engineering.
