2019 World Para Ice Hockey Championships

The 2019 World Para Ice Hockey Championships was the 10th edition of the world championships for para ice hockey. It consisted of three tournaments. The main event, Tournament A, was held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, at the Ostravar Aréna, from April 27 to May 4. Eight teams competed in Tournament A. This was Ostrava’s second time hosting, after 2009.

The United States won the title (their 4th), Canada finished second, South Korea third, and the host Czech Republic fourth.

Tournament statistics: 20 games were played, 129 goals were scored (about 6.45 per game). Attendance totaled 64,748 (about 3,237 per game). The top scorer was Declan Farmer with 14 points, and Michal Geier was named MVP.

Background: Tournament B took place in Berlin in November, and Tournament C was held in Vierumäki, Finland, in 2018 with Australia, China and Finland.
