James Atherton

James Atherton, born James Conway on 16 July 1987 in Cumbria, England, is an English actor. He is best known for his roles as Will Savage in Hollyoaks and Jamie Bowman in Coronation Street. He grew up in the village of Talkin and went to Austin Friars School in Carlisle. On stage, he played Bob in Rita, Sue and Bob Too with the Out of Joint Theatre Company. The revival opened in Bolton in September 2017, toured the UK, and later played at the Royal Court Theatre in January 2018. On TV, Atherton played Will Savage from 2011 to 2015 in Hollyoaks and joined Coronation Street as Jamie Bowman in October 2015. In 2019, he appeared as Tim Collins in Ackley Bridge and as Dr. McKenzie in the Dave sitcom Porters. Earlier that year he also appeared as Keiran in the Vera episode Blindspot.
