WUPR (1530 AM), branded Éxitos 1530 y La Nueva 98.3, is a Spanish‑variety radio station based in Utuado, Puerto Rico, serving the Puerto Rico area. It broadcasts on 1530 kHz with 1,000 watts by day and 250 watts at night (Class B) and also uses the FM translator 98.3 W252EG in Utuado. The station is owned by Central Broadcasting Corporation and carries programming from Red Informativa de PR. The call sign stands for Utuado, Puerto Rico. WUPR first aired on April 4, 1964. It was founded by Benito Martinez; after his death in 1992 his son Jose Martinez Giraud took over and changed the format from music Top 40 to a mix of music and news-talk.
