Henry Miller, born John Pegge on February 1, 1859, in London, was an English-born American actor, director, producer and theater manager. His family moved to Canada, where he began acting as a child and first appeared on stage in Toronto in 1878. He worked with several famous companies before joining the Augustin Daly company to perform opposite Bijou Heron, whom he married in New York on February 1, 1883.

Miller appeared on Broadway with top stars, became a leading man in Charles Frohman's stock company at the Empire Theatre in 1893, and toured in The Great Divide. In 1908 he began focusing on management, helping to launch the careers of Alla Nazimova, Walter Hampden, Laura Hope Crews and Ruth Chatterton. With backing from Elizabeth Milbank Anderson, he built and ran Henry Miller's Theatre in Manhattan. He and Bijou had three children: Gilbert Miller, Henry Miller Jr., and Agnes Miller. Miller died in New York City on April 9, 1926, aged 67.
