The Temsah Bus is Egypt’s MRAP (mine- and ambush-protected) armored personnel carrier made for the Egyptian Armed Forces. It has been in service since 2016. The vehicle was designed by the Arab Organization for Industrialization and built by the Kader Factory for Developed Industries.

Capacity and crew: It can carry 24 soldiers plus a 2‑person crew (driver and commander), for a total of 26 people.

Protection and design: The Temsah Bus uses a welded V‑shaped hull to protect occupants from blasts and mines. The armor can stop 7.62 mm bullets, and the vehicle can be upgraded with anti‑blast seats and other safety features. There are nine firing ports on the sides and back for soldiers to defend the vehicle from inside. The driver sits on the left and the commander on the right, both behind large bulletproof windows. Access is via a side door at the front and a rear door to the troop compartment, where soldiers sit on explosion‑proof seats with a central aisle.

Equipment and features: It has three‑day/night surveillance cameras displayed on a 9‑inch monitor in the crew area. Optional equipment includes special paint, extra rack frames, and a shock‑absorbing floor. Anti‑RPG nets can be installed on the outside.

Performance: The Temsah Bus weighs about 16 tons empty and up to around 21.3 tons with payload. It is about 9.2 to 9.9 meters long, 2.45 meters wide, and roughly 2.45 meters high (3.10 meters with any tower). It is powered by an 8‑cylinder diesel engine delivering 240 hp at 2100 rpm, paired with a manual transmission (5 forward, 1 reverse) and an additional two‑speed transfer. Top speed is about 78 km/h, with a range up to 600 km. Ground clearance is 400 mm, and it can handle rugged, desert terrain and off‑road obstacles.

First public appearance: The Temsah Bus was shown at EDEX 2018, noted for its long range, desert usability, and strong off‑road performance.
