St. John's Convention Centre (SJCC) is the province’s largest convention venue. It sits in downtown St. John’s at 101 New Gower Street and offers about 47,000 square feet of flexible, divisible meeting space (roughly 4,365 square meters).

The centre opened in May 2001. It was built beside Mary Brown’s Centre, and both buildings are run by St. John’s Sports & Entertainment Ltd. The SJCC is connected to Mary Brown’s Centre and the Delta St. John’s Hotel by a pedway.

The centre sits on part of George Street, creating a street layout that split George Street into George Street and George Street West during construction.

A 2009 study recommended expanding the facility to about 34,650 square feet. In 2011, the three levels of government announced $45 million to fund the project, and the expanded SJCC opened in 2016. The first event after expansion was Mari-Tech on May 4, 2016.

The upgraded SJCC features modern technology, including high-speed WiFi, digital signage, improved phone and security systems, and both interior and exterior digital displays. The building also showcases art from Newfoundland and Labrador residents, funded with about $300,000 in 2016. In January 2016, meeting rooms and ballrooms were named after St. John’s parks.

The SJCC remains linked by a pedway to Mary Brown’s Centre and the Delta St. John’s Hotel.
