Jackson Mitchell is an American football linebacker from Ridgefield, Connecticut, born January 23, 2001. He played high school football at Ridgefield and then starred for the UConn Huskies from 2019 to 2023. After a COVID-shortened 2020 season, he made a big impact in 2021 with 120 tackles, and in 2022 he set career highs with 140 tackles, plus multiple forced fumbles and fumble recoveries, leading the nation in tackles and earning a Chuck Bednarik Award semifinal nomination. In 2023 he had 113 tackles and continued to be a versatile playmaker.

Mitchell went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent. He bounced around the NFL and briefly the UFL in 2024-25, including:
- Panthers (May 10, 2024 signing; waived August 16)
- Las Vegas Raiders (claimed August 17, 2024; waived August 27)
- Panthers practice squad (October 1, 2024; released November 5)
- Memphis Showboats (December 17, 2024) before returning to the Panthers' practice squad the next day
- Raiders (reserve/future contract January 13, 2025; waived April 25, 2025)

Mitchell is known for his tackling ability and versatility at the linebacker position.
