Michelle Phillips is an American actress and singer with a career spanning more than five decades. She became famous as a member of The Mamas & the Papas in 1965. Her first major film role was a small part in The Last Movie (1971). She starred as Billie Frechette in Dillinger (1973), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Most Promising Newcomer. She led in two 1974 TV films, The Death Squad and The California Kid. In 1977 she played Natacha Rambova in Valentino, directed by Ken Russell. Other film work includes The Man with Bogart's Face (1980) and Savage Harvest (1981). In the 1980s she did a lot of television, with guest roles on Fantasy Island and The Love Boat, and TV movies like Murder Me, Murder You (1983) and Secrets of a Married Man (1984). From 1987 to 1993 she played Anne Matheson on Knots Landing. In 1997 she voiced Raven on the animated series Spicy City and appeared on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1997–1998) as Abby Malone. In the 2000s she acted in independent films such as Jane White Is Sick & Twisted (2002), Harry + Max (2004), and Kids in America (2005). Since then she has appeared in several documentaries as an interview subject, including Feminists: What Were They Thinking? (2018) and Echo in the Canyon (2019).
