JaNice Van Ness is an American politician from Georgia. She served in the Georgia State Senate from 2015 to 2017, representing the 43rd district, which includes parts of Rockdale, Newton, and DeKalb counties. She was elected as a Republican after the seat became vacant when Ronald Ramsey Sr. resigned, winning a December 1, 2015 runoff against Tonya Anderson. She lost to Anderson in the November 2016 general election.

Before the Senate, Van Ness spent eight years as a Rockdale County Commissioner, serving two terms. She lost her 2014 bid for re-election to Doreen Williams (D).

In 2024, Van Ness ran for Rockdale County Chairman as a Democrat and won, advancing to the June runoff and defeating the incumbent. She was sworn in as Chair of the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners on January 8, 2025.

Van Ness founded Peachtree Academy, private schools in Rockdale and Newton counties. She studied at Auburn University (B.A.) and Emory College (A.A.S.). She resides in Rockdale County.
