Giuseppe Verdi is a 1938 Italian biographical film directed by Carmine Gallone. The screenplay was written by Carmine Gallone and Lucio D'Ambra, and the film was produced by Gallone. It stars Fosco Giachetti as Giuseppe Verdi, with Gaby Morlay and Germana Paolieri in supporting roles. The story follows the life of the famous composer (1813–1901). The casting of Giachetti was meant to emphasize Verdi's patriotism, echoing his recent patriotic film roles. Filming took place at Cinecittà Studios in Rome.
