Protomydas
Protomydas is a genus of flies in the family Mydidae. It was defined by Papavero and Pimentel in 1989. The type species is Mydas coerulescens, described by Olivier in 1811. Protomydas are insects in the order Diptera (true flies), part of the class Insecta, phylum Arthropoda, and kingdom Animalia, and they belong to the broader fly group Asiloidea.
