Yaktak is the stage name of Yaroslav Mykolaiovych Karpuk, born on May 4, 2005, in Stara Vyzhivka, Ukraine. He is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter who makes pop and hip-hop music. His grandparents encouraged his love of music; his grandmother teaches at a children’s music school and his grandfather works at a vocational lyceum. He finished school in his village and studies vocal performance at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts.

In 2019 he competed in Holos.Dity, season 5, on Ukrainian television with team Dzidzio, reaching the super final and finishing second. In 2020 he won top honors at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Since 2021 he has been writing his own songs, and he won the Grand Prix at the Chornomorski ihry festival that year. He started his solo project Yaktak in Kyiv in February 2022. He has collaborated with artists such as Jerry Heil, MamaRika, SOBOL, DOVI, Kola, and Golubenko.

He received a Muzvar Award in 2023. In 2024 he was a finalist in Ukraine’s Eurovision national selection with the song "Lalala," finishing in fourth place.
