Industrial Complex at 221 McKibbin Street
Industrial Complex at 221 McKibbin Street is a group of ten connected industrial buildings in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Built between 1845 and 1951, the site covers less than an acre.
The most notable building is the three-story brick spinning house of the H. Lawrence & Sons Rope Works, built before 1870.
Over its history, the complex housed rope manufacturing and other trades, including cardboard production, glass making, knitting, silk weaving, and wood working.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 12, 2009 (reference number 09000303).
The complex sits on McKibbin Street among nearby sites like PS 147, Sure We Can, and the McKibbin Street Lofts.
