Bidyut Baran Mahato is an Indian politician from Jharkhand. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been the Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Jamshedpur since 2014. He won the 2014 general election as a BJP candidate and was re-elected in 2019 and 2024, making him the first Jamshedpur MP to win three consecutive terms.

Earlier, Mahato was with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha until 2014. He served as a member of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Baharagora from 2009 to 2014 and chaired the Assembly’s Committee on Public Undertakings from 2012 to 2014.

Born on 15 February 1963 in Krishnapur, Jharkhand, Mahato comes from a Bengali Kudmi Mahato family. He studied at Tata College, Chaibasa, and works as an agriculturist and farmer. He resides in Krishnapur, Seraikela Kharsawan district. He is married to Usha Mahato since 1992 and has two children.

As an MP, he has served on parliamentary committees related to industry, steel, coal, and welfare of backward classes, and has been a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Steel.
