Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre
Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (1930) is a government project in India designed to tackle cybercrime in a coordinated way. It operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and uses the 1930 helpline to help people report cybercrime. The scheme was approved in October 2018 with a budget of ₹415.86 crore (about US$49 million) and was inaugurated in New Delhi in January 2020 by Home Minister Amit Shah. It has seven components to support cybercrime investigations and protect citizens online.
Since its launch, the centre has supported actions such as banning 59 Chinese-origin mobile apps in June 2020 on recommendations from I4C. In October 2023, Google launched DigiKavach to help protect Indian users from online fraud and to work with IC3. On January 17, 2025, the United States and India signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on cybercrime investigations, to be carried out by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Cyber Crimes Center, U.S. ICE, and IC3.
