BC Centre of Excellence
Champs International Skating Centre of British Columbia, formerly the BC Centre of Excellence, is one of Canada's two major figure skating training centers. It is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, and trains many national and international skaters. The programs are led by coach Joanne McLeod, who has coached national, world, and Olympic champions. The center operates at Canlan Ice Sports Burnaby 8 Rinks. Notable skaters training there include Emanuel Sandhu, Mira Leung, Allie Hann-McCurdy & Michael Coreno, Jessica Miller & Ian Moram, Jeremy Ten, and Kevin Reynolds. Champs International also serves as a training site for international competitors preparing for events in Vancouver. The organization hosts the BC/YK Summer Skate Competition every August.
