Iceland Express was a low-cost airline based in Reykjavík, Iceland, with its main base at Keflavík International Airport. It started in 2002 and began flying in February 2003. The airline often used aircraft leased from other companies.

Over the years its ownership changed several times. Astraeus Airlines operated all Iceland Express flights from 2008 with Boeing 737-700s. The ownership passed from Northern Travel Holding to Fons in 2008, and then to Fengur, which by then owned Astraeus.

In 2010 Iceland Express began trans-Atlantic service with Astraeus to Newark and Winnipeg, using a mix of 737s and 757s. In 2011 there were plans for additional US routes (Chicago, Boston, Miami) and other destinations (Belfast, Orlando), but not all materialized. By late 2011 Astraeus stopped operating, and Iceland Express started leasing two Airbus A320s from Czech Airlines.

In October 2012 WOW air bought Iceland Express’s operations and network, and Iceland Express ceased operations in 2012.
