Hungry for Music is a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. that helps music education and cultural enrichment by giving musical instruments to underprivileged children around the world. It was founded and is led by Jeff Campbell and became a 501(c)(3) charity in 1994. Since then, the group has distributed thousands of free instruments to kids, groups, and schools.

The organization raises money by producing and selling its own compact discs, some of which include licensed songs from famous artists like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon. Other income comes from raffles, membership sales, and concerts.

In 2011, Hungry for Music received a Resources and Equipment grant from the National Educational Association. It is supported by many donors, including Vanguard, Hard Rock Cafe, BMI, Violins Etc., Strathmore, Austin Grill, Tau Beta Sigma, Mark’s Kitchen, Rockport, and the National Chamber Ensemble, among others. Hungry for Music was showcased by BMI and Hard Rock Cafe in February 2011.
