La Esperanza, Quetzaltenango
La Esperanza is a municipality in Guatemala’s Quetzaltenango department. It covers about 15.9 square kilometers and sits at an altitude of roughly 2,465 meters. Founded on April 7, 1910, it had around 22,166 residents in 2018, with about 19,724 living in the urban area. The population density is about 1,390 people per square kilometer. The town uses Central Time (UTC-6) and has a mild climate with dry winters (Köppen climate class Cwb).
