Bohemia, Louisiana
Bohemia is a small, unincorporated community in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, located in the Mississippi River delta. It was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Before the storm, about 200 people lived there, but only around 25 homes remained standing after it. Bohemia is about 51 miles southeast of New Orleans and sits roughly 7 feet above sea level. The nearest international airport is Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, about 64 miles away. Public schools are provided by the Plaquemines Parish School Board, and Phoenix High School (a K–12 school) in Braithwaite serves Bohemia.
