Houtat Sulūk

Houtat Sulūk is a canyon in Suluk Subdistrict, Tell Abyad District, Raqqa Governorate, Syria. It is about 500 meters long. The canyon sits roughly 65 kilometers north of Raqqa and about 10 kilometers southeast of Sulūk town, near the Turkish border. Locals say that during the Syrian Civil War, hundreds to around a thousand bodies were thrown into the canyon by several militia groups.
