1967 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships
1967 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships took place March 3-4 in Oakland, California, at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Arena. Organized by the AAU, it was the national indoor championships with 23 events (13 for men and 10 for women).
Highlights included Bob Seagren attempting a world indoor pole vault record of 17 ft 7 in (5.35 m) but failing to clear it, with the short runway on the banked track blamed. Bill Gaines won the men's 60-yard dash, borrowing Wyomia Tyus's running spikes. Attendance was about 5,264, and tickets cost up to $6. The meet marked the first time the women's mile run was contested and the first time the men's triple jump was included.
