Hope Is a Thing With Feathers is the fifth and final studio album by the American alternative country band Trailer Bride. It was released on September 23, 2003, and recorded at Kudzu Ranch in Mebane, North Carolina. The album runs 42 minutes and 35 seconds and was released by Bloodshot Records. It was produced by Rick Miller along with Trailer Bride. All songs were written by Melissa Swingle. The title nods to Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope is the thing with feathers." Mojo Magazine gave it 3 out of 5 stars, describing the music as a mix of twisted folk rock with influences reminiscent of early Palace and Nick Cave in a cowboy hat.
