Blaster Silonga
Blaster Silonga is a Filipino singer-songwriter, musician and producer. Born Blaster Mitchell Medina Silonga on September 30, 1999, in Marikina, Philippines, he is best known as the co-vocalist and lead guitarist of the funk rock band IV of Spades. He also leads his own band, Blaster and the Celestial Klowns, and has a solo career.
Blaster is the son of veteran musician Allan Silonga, a key figure in Filipino music and a senior A&R manager at Def Jam Philippines. He has three siblings: Dave, Ashanti, and Alleinah. In 2014, his father formed a band for him, which included drummer Badjao de Castro, bassist Zildjian “Zild” Benitez, and lead singer Unique Salonga. The group released the single “Mundo” and the album ClapClapClap!.
In 2016, Blaster joined the music competition Eat Bulaga!’s Music Hero and won the Electric Guitar Hero title, but he and Zild Benitez stepped aside as IV of Spades rose to fame.
In 2021, Blaster signed with Island Records Philippines (UMG Philippines). He released his debut solo single “Disko Forever” in Japanese on September 30, 2021 and in Filipino on October 29, 2021. He formed the Celestial Klowns, a band featuring his brother Dave Silonga on bass, Crystal Jobli on keyboards, Max Cinco on drums, and Dan Tanedo on guitars.
On October 8, 2022, Blaster released his debut studio album My Kosmik Island Disk, which has 9 tracks including the singles “Narararamdaman” and “O Kay Ganda.” He followed up with his second studio album Last Fool Show in 2025.
