Hayes Township is a rural area in Clay County, Kansas. It covers 35.67 square miles (92.39 km2) of land, with no water, and sits about 1,300 feet (400 meters) above sea level. As of the 2000 census, 206 people lived there, for a density of about 5.7 people per square mile (2.2 per km2). The township has no incorporated towns. Cemeteries listed by the USGS are Brethren in Christ, Greenwood, Hayes, and Pleasant Hill. Holmes Airpark is located in Hayes Township. The coordinates are 39°26′30″N 097°05′31″W.
